Alexander Girardi

Girardi was famous for types and comedic operetta roles. His first big success was as a teenager in 1874-96 at the Theater an der Wien. From 1896-1897 he played at the Carltheater, 1898-1900 at the Deutsche Volkstheater, and guest performances between 1902-1908 and in 1917 at the Theater in der Josefstadt. Together with Jarno’s wife Hansi Niese, he celebrated many evenings in front of a delighted audience.
