Washington State Crime Victims Compensation Program (CVCP) The Crime Victims Compensation Program provides support to individuals who have sustained physical injury or mental health trauma as a result of a reported gross misdemeanor or felony crime in Washington State. Eligible applicants include victims who suffered physical or psychological injury, as well as survivors of homicide victims.
For minors, applications must be filed within two years of their 18th birthday. Because circumstances vary and the laws are complex, the best way to determine eligibility is to file a claim.
Covered benefits may include:
- Medical and dental care, including medication
- Mental health counseling
- Lost wages or financial support
- Funeral expenses
- Emergency costs (such as medical co‑pays and deductibles)
Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) has a five‑month waiting period. Benefit payments begin no earlier than the sixth full month of disability.
