The title of her lecture is &#8220;When Passion Trumps: The Latino Vote in 2016 and the Republican Melodrama of Loss.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Beltr\u00e1n is the author of <em>The Trouble with Unity: Latino Politics and the Creation of Identity<\/em> (Oxford University Press, 2010), winner of the 2011 Ralph Bunche Award from the American Political Science Association, the 2011 Best Book Award from the Race, Ethnicity, and Politics Section of the American Political Science Association, and the 2012 Casas de la Am\u00e9ricas Award for the Best Book in Latino Studies in the United States.
