Less than 15% of contributors are female. The result is not only a skew in perspective for the articles that exist, but a severe skew in which articles get created in the first place. Articles on everyday things (rather than science and history topics <em>etc<\/em>.) are more likely to cover topics valued by men.<\/p>\n<p>This is a problem that can be easily fixed by females who use Wikipedia (you!) contributing and adding to articles when they notice a need.
