MoPOP Seeking Summer Interns

MoPOP is seeking summer interns for Public Programming and Event Production!

PUBLIC PROGRAMMING- Maker Faire/Program Outreach Intern (Unpaid)

MoPOP is seeking an unpaid intern to focus on Seattle Mini Maker Faire and Public Programs-related projects this summer. The intern works collaboratively within the Public Programming and Marketing departments 12-20 hours per week. Ideal candidates have an interest in education, museum programming, STEM education, pop culture, and/or the maker movement.

In addition, the intern will have the opportunity to be involved with one-off programs that connect gallery content to the public. These programs are integral to the public programming vision of MoPOP and represent a broad spectrum of programs.

EVENT PRODUCTION- Maker Faire Intern (Unpaid)

MoPOP is seeking an unpaid intern to focus on the event production needs associated with the Seattle Mini Maker Faire. The intern works collaboratively within the Events Department 12-20 hours per week. The intern must be available to work the entire Seattle Mini Maker Faire (September 16–17),as well as load-in days on September 14–15.

The internship highlights the work necessary to execute a large-scale public event. With more than 6,000 attendees, 100 vendors, high-profile speakers, and a wide array of family friendly activities, the 2016 Seattle Mini Maker Faire was a huge success. We hope to build upon that success in 2017. Ideal candidates have an interest in event production and public programming.
