The Cosmos seeks Freelance Graphic Designer
The Cosmos is an intentional community for Asian womxn to make friends, feel safe & cultivate Wellness Confidence. We reach over 15k+ women across our digital and in person platforms and produced over 100 events across ten cities since launching in 2018. We’ve been featured in The New York Times, Bustle, Refinery29, and Paper Mag.

As a Freelance Graphic Designer, you’ll join the Creative Team in producing digital creative assets that represent the Asian womxn community. Your work will live on our site, online community, and social media accounts and will directly impact the reach and influence of the voice of the community. You will work directly with The Cosmos Creative Director. This is an opportunity for a freelance/contract designer who is excited to create a new standard for how Asian women are represented!
In particular, you will:

Develop unique, brand-defining digital assets

Project manage your design projects – set your own timelines and understand what support you need to succeed

Demonstrates understanding of typography, photography, graphic design and digital design; ensures all assets adhere to brand guidelines

Demonstrates understanding of digital platforms and channels, and what creative works best across different channels

Showcase a basic understanding of the production side of design deliverables

Communicate actively with Creative Director and Chief Operating Officer for feedback and manage input
What we’re looking for

Time Commitment: Able to commit 5-10 hours a week

Experience: 1-3 years in a similar role, and entry level designers encouraged to apply!

Skills: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign)

Paid. At this early stage of our company, we’re committed to working with each person on the team to create a benefits and compensation package that works for them. We are a bootstrapped company still building our way to profitability, so this is not a role for someone looking for a full-time position.
