This position is full time with a Monday through Friday schedule. While City Hall remains closed to the public, this position will be provided with equipment to work remotely. Telecommuting options are available upon return to in-person operations, with Supervisor approval.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create print, digital, email and web/HTML design
  • Understand design layout, web and email design, presentation design, image/photo-editing and vector-based graphic design
  • Lead the City’s web design and editor team (quarterly trainings, answer web editing questions, manage permissions, manage the annual website quality assurance project and more)
  • Understand social media design and account management experience and best practices
  • Possess ability to develop strong design concepts from audio, visual, or text content
  • Manage projects and conduct follow up to ensure completion and satisfaction
  • Prepare digital and print layouts, making recommendations to presentation approach, style, technique and other production factors
  • Proficient in managing a large workload while consistently meeting competing deadlines

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Digital Communications or related field and five years of applicable experience required.
  • Preference given to those with:
    • Strong background in digital and web design (HTML, CSS, Responsive design), Content Management System(s), Adobe Creative Suite- InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Dreamweaver (or another HTML editor).
    • Knowledge with SharePoint content editing, experience with CivicPlus’s Civic Engage website platform, email marketing software and ArcGIS StoryMaps or similar softwares.
    • Experience in public sector setting.
  • This position is currently covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

  • First round interviews anticipated to occur week of February 22, 2021.
