A Call for Artists – Cuttyhunk Island Artists’ Residency

A Call for Artists—Join us on beautiful Cuttyhunk Island to focus on your work within a uniquely supportive natural and human environment.
Apply by June 1.

CIAR’s 2023 Fall Residency Program offers visual artists a focussed and supportive environment to develop their work. Set on a small island off the coast of Massachusetts, CIAR will host a group of twelve artists to use the island itself as their studio. Living together in the historic Avalon Inn, the residents are invited to welcome nature into their artistic practice, as they draw inspiration from their coastal surroundings. Renowned figurative and landscape painter, Mario Robinson will join as the Visiting Artist, giving a slide talk about his work and sharing his expertise with the resident artists as he works alongside them on his own projects. Artist, gallerist, curator, and arts professional, Matthew Deleget will give a lecture and Q and A session providing tools for establishing a sustainable art career. Residents will build insight and camaraderie as they sit down to meals together, cooked by CIAR’s wonderful chef.
