Metal Museum Offering Scholarships

The Metal Museum in Memphis, Tennessee offers two scholarships for students interested in learning metalsmithing:

The Society for Inclusive Blacksmiths Scholarship is available to individuals from historically marginalized groups, which includes anyone who identifies as BIPOC, LGBTQA+, female, or disabled. The SIB Scholarship will award up to $1000 to cover class tuition and materials of a Metal Museum blacksmithing class.

The Carlsen Family Scholarship will award up to $1000 to cover registration fees for Metal Museum education opportunities – which include but are not limited to classes, workshops, or conferences – hosted by and at the Metal Museum. Scholarships are available to students or emerging artists aged 25 or younger with a desire to pursue a career in metalsmithing.

Scholarship funds may also support travel to and from Memphis or lodging fees during the participant’s time in Memphis.

The deadline for both scholarships is November 1st, 2024.
