Sales Associate Job Description
The Sfingiday Sales Associate will uphold the Sfingiday Company Purpose to Celebrate Artists and Create Joy. The Sales Associate is responsible for assisting customers throughout the buying process, greeting customers when they enter the store, helping them find specific products and completing customer purchases on the point of sale(POS) system. The role will assist managers and staff with exemplary customer service,dynamic merchandising standards, efficient receiving, and diligent cleaning. The Sfingiday Sales Associate is a part time hourly position reporting directly to the Sfingiday Manager and Assistant Manager.
Will Do
- Support and Practice Sfingiday Core Values to fulfill company purpose
- Warmly greet and share product information and stories about the Sfingiday Products and the Artists/Artisans who make them
- Answering questions and assisting customers
- Determine customer needs and recommend products
- Explain the features and benefits of products to customers
- Stay up-to-date on the latest products available in the store or department
- Maintain merchandising standards which includes straightening and fronting shop displays and refilling displays from backstock
- Promote special sales and offers
- Ensure shelves, displays and the overall store are tidy and inviting
- Assist customers with returning or exchanging products as needed
- Accept and process POS sale orders and gift wrap
- Monitor and perform weekly cleaning tasks
- Assist in receiving product into inventory and print labels
- Perform opening and closing shop duties including setting up and taking down outside displays
- Assist in counting physical inventory according to an annual schedule and frequent audits as product is received
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing- majority of time spent standing and walking
- May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling and stooping
- Ability to lift 50lbs
Qualifications and Competencies
- Weekend availability required
- Ability to communicate clearly through written and oral channels
- Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentage
- POS and sales experience preferred
- Sales skills to identify opportunities for cross-selling
- Customer service and interpersonal skills to assist challenging interactions with the public
- Computer skills to utilize inventory control and POS system software
- Ability to listen actively and understand customer needs
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Friendly, energetic, and proactive attitude
Starting Pay $21/hr
