Google: Talent Programs and Event Specialist

The Talent Programs and Events team, part of Global People Services, is focused on promoting Google as an exceptional place to work for experienced talent, building a robust and diverse pipeline of outstanding candidates, and collaborating cross-functionally and globally to build and refine partnerships and outreach. As a Specialist, you’ll build relationships with external organizations and develop strategies to attract and engage engineers to Google’s workforce. You’ll have an eye on Google’s short- and long-term growth needs and a pulse of the broader brand landscape. You will partner with various Staffing, Product Areas and Site Leads to build a comprehensive outreach strategy from the ground up and ensure effective execution.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute events and programs for external candidates, track results and scale where possible. Partner with teams, both inside and outside of tech, to create comprehensive program and event strategies.
  • Plan and execute recruiting and employment branding events, ranging from small intimate programs to large scale productions. Post-event reporting, detailed tracking and analysis.
  • Manage relationships and partner with key external organizations and groups to enhance Google’s brand in the employment marketplace. Build relationships with vendors, internal team members, and a wide range of stakeholders across Google to manage expectations and ensure high-quality event management.
  • Develop and implement events including program mapping and planning, budgets, stakeholder buy-ins, logistics, messaging (internal and external), developing content with Google Leaders to successfully meet event objectives. Contribute to our online presence and public messaging by creating interesting and informational web and collateral content.
  • Ability to travel as required.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in program/event planning, recruiting, marketing, HR, consulting or related area.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in program/event management or diversity event planning in a technical environment.
  • Experience using Google products including email, calendar, docs, spreadsheets, and sites.
  • Experience providing effective client support for the coordination and seamless delivery of events.
  • Ability to think broadly and strategically, balanced with high attention to detail.
  • Developed relationship management skills, including consulting and developed interpersonal communications. Developed organizational and communication skills. Comfortable working with Executive-level clients/groups.
  • Motivated and creative professional with demonstrated event, project and budget management skills. Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks, and follow through with team members to achieve group as well as individual goals.
