LUX is teaming up with the Undergraduate Theater Society (UTS) and we’re excited to announce a joint event we’ve been preparing for winter quarter: CyberArt 2021 @ Home!
This remote activity is an opportunity for UW students to create online multimedia art of any kind with the help of both organizations’ resources. A photo gallery? A stage reading? A DND campaign? An interactive alternate reality roleplay? Be boundless–but stay at home!
LUX will be leading the video portion of this activity. Working in small teams, you will write, pitch, film, and edit a short skit. The challenge? Doing all this 100% remotely!
CyberArt consists of three events: a kickoff (details below), a midpoint check-in, and a final showcase at the end of the quarter to display your or your team’s artwork. Our organizations will also feature interesting workshops and guest speakers throughout the rest of the quarter.
Beginning with our kickoff event next Monday (Jan. 11) at 6pm, we will announce the rules of CyberArt and provide information on how UTS & LUX can support your projects. You’ll also have a chance to meet people of different skill sets and backgrounds. If you’re interested in attending this kickoff event, please fill out this RSVP form.
As always with our productions, no prior experience is necessary. We encourage you to work in teams (though you aren’t required to), so bring your friends and maybe make some new ones on January 11!
