UX/UI Internship (Summer 2024)

Our early-stage startup is looking for a highly-motivated UX/UI designer to contribute to the development of our MVP. As a summer intern in an early-stage startup, this is an incredible opportunity. You will have a significant role and will be able to contribute to an impactful product. Upon successful completion of this summer internship, you will have the opportunity to grow with us if you so choose. This is currently an unpaid opportunity with high-reward potential for long-term commitment.

Responsibilities:

– Skillfully apply design principles to enhance usability and accessibility of digital product.

– Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand user requirements and project goals.

Minimum Qualifications

– Proficiency with Figma.
– Excellent visual design skills with an eye for detail.
– A portfolio of professional UI/UX design work for both web and mobile platforms.
– Excellent time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines and communicate in a timely manner. – Deductive reasoning, listening, flexibility, and critical thinking skills.
– Strong communication and collaboration skills.
– Intrinsically motivated to do good work.
Preferred Qualifications
– Degree or equivalent experience in HCD, HCI, and/or UX design.
– Demonstrated UX/UI experience.

SchoolSphere was formed after the 2021-2022 school year with the intention to improve teacher work. Since its founding, SchoolSphere has graduated from Carnegie Mellon University’s Project Olympus and TechStars Catalyst. Founder Elizabeth Brooks has worked in public schools across rural, urban, and suburban communities and attended public schools. She has two master degrees from schools of education: Seattle University (MIT, Secondary Education) and California State University – Los Angeles (MA, Educational Foundations). Previously, she has received research funding from Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Washington, in addition to government and non-profit funding.
