Each spring, the HMB conducts a rigorous interview and audition process to select the Band's student leaders. These dedicated Huskies are critical to the band's success each year. They run sectional rehearsals and help the members of their sections learn all the spots and formations for every pregame and halftime show. They also are tasked with filling the ranks of the nearly 70 pep bands we send out into the community to perform throughout the year.
We are also thrilled to introduce the Husky Band student staff positions. These enormously important—and highly coveted—leadership positions not only cover very important day-to-day clerical assignments, but also set up the field before each rehearsal and performance. What these undergraduates do is so important that it is typically assigned to master’s-level teaching assistants in many college marching bands.
So, without further ado, let’s welcome the 2015 section leaders and student staff members!
