New B4T Publication in the Journal of Dental Research Introduces Real-time Imaging of Dental Composites

Dr. Sadr is the lead researcher on a Journal of Dental Research (JDR) article describing the unique capability of optical Coherence Tomography technology for real-time imaging of dental structures, especially for time-resolved determination of defect formation. The 2017 article is a collaborative project between UW and Tokyo Medical and Dental University, which for the first time documents interfacial gap formation during polymerization of the dental restorative composites through videos, and demonstrates how such defects continued to propagate after composite light curing finished.
