Mission statement:  

The Ethics in Medicine website is an educational resource designed for clinicians in training. The website is hosted by the Department of Bioethics & Humanities at the University of Washington School of Medicine. The topics, cases, and resources covered here are intended to be used as a resource by the UWSOM community and to supplement or support other teaching and learning throughout the curriculum. It is not designed to answer patient-specfic clinical, professional, legal, or ethical questions. Information contained on the website is not intended as a substitute for professional consultation.

The Department of Bioethics & Humanities provides academic education and professional training in bioethics and humanities through an MA in Bioethics; an undergraduate Minor in Bioethics and Humanities; curricula in clinical ethics and professionalism for medical students, residents, and fellows; and sponsored continuing education activities for practicing health care professionals.
