Every child needs to be in a booster seat
until the seat belt fits right.
Typically, seat belts fit when a child is:
at least 4'9" tall
about 8 years old
about 80 pounds
Car crashes kill more children between the ages of 4 and 8 than
anything else. Seat belts save lives, but a seat belt that doesn't
fit properly will not protect your child in a crash.
