Andrew said "I was at the college preview camp this year and I learned what http:// means and what html means. I thought that was cool. We also got to take apart a computer and it was pretty cool inside."
Brian said "I learned how to use E-mail and I also learned a lot of things about hwo to get a computer to work correctly. I also learned how much power it takes to run certain programs."
Danielle said "I've learned what I can do to make my webpage more accessible to all types of disabilities."
Liz said "I enjoyed meeting people of all ages. I think my favorite part of computer camp was learning was how to set up web pages."
Matt said "I had a lot of fun at computer camp this year. The only thing I really learned about was how to use e-mail. I hope to come back next year."
Nikki said "I learned valuable information about going to college. I'm very fortunate to be in this wonderful opportunity to preview college information. This is an opportunity I think every high school student should get involved in. I'm thankful I did."
Sam said "My favorite parts of camp are tie-dying, meeting new people,
and surfing the web."
Sheryl, DO-IT Director, said "We had a great group of enthusiastic campers in our program this year. They learned a lot about college, computers, and careers... and we had a lot of fun, too!"
Bill, a volunteer, said "I learned a new way to find out if someone is logged onto America On Line (AOL) by using the Search AOL Member Directory function in the People menu. I'd never done that before. Camper Danielle taught that technique to me. I came to camp as a computer mentor/facilitator/curmudgeon with years of AOL experience and Danielle enrolled in the Camp's Internet program. I also learned that teachers can learn a lot from students."
Flint, an intern, said "I had a great time helping others out this year. The computer is a wonderful tool for disabled people; it allows them to access the world of information available to us all. The computer also helps equalize the playing field. New and improved adaptive technology is allowing more and more disabled people to access the computer. I know that computers will always be with me, and that they will be a life saver as well as an inspiring experience for disabled as well as non-disabled people everywhere."
