Math Review Seminar
At the beginning of each quarter, the EUB puts on a math review seminar
with two sessions: one focuses on concepts needed for Economics 200/201
and the other on skills that apply to Economics 300/301. If it has been
a long time since you've taken a math course or you just need a refresher,
this is a quick way to get up to speed.
Career Seminar
An individual from a local business, generally an alumnus of the department,
is invited to share information about his/her career path from graduation
to present position. This is a great place to get career questions answered
and to get advice about job interviews and job search.
The Paul Heyne Lecture
This is a great event to attend if you are thinking about undergraduate
research! During this lecture, a university faculty member discusses practical
applications of economics through their current research.
Graduate School Seminar
The graduate school seminar, offered during fall and winter quarters,
is designed to help students who are interested in or currently applying
to graduate school in fields typical of economic majors.
Study Abroad Seminar
Are you looking for a study abroad opportunity? The study abroad seminar
is the perfect place to learn more about the Economics Department study
abroad program.
Free Tutoring
The EUB provides free tutoring hours daily for Econ 200/201 and Econ 300/301.
Many tutors are also willing to help with specific 400-level courses that
they have taken. See tutoring schedule for more information!
The Economizer
This is the EUB's quarterly newsletter. Topics vary, so pick up a copy
at the end of each quarter or read it online!
Annual Departmental Survey
The EUB surveys students in 300 and 400-level courses each year to find
out more information about student concerns and trends. Results are available
online.
Book Club
A club that encourages members to pick different novels on economics to
read and discuss each quarter.
All schedules for events will be sent to the econmajor list serve (see
advisor for details)
