Niharika Jha, BPH, is a recent MPH graduate in the Cardiometabolic Research and Training Program at the UW, funded by the Fogarty International Training Center. At Dhulikhel Hospital-Kathmandu University Hospital, she has worked as a research assistant for various qualitative and quantitative noncommunicable disease studies, including research focused on cancer and diabetes. Ms. Jha is also engaged in a cardiovascular (CVD) disease project where she is identifying relevant needs for capacity-building. During her work at Dhulikhel hospital, Ms. Jha co-authored several CVD-related manuscripts. Currently She is working as a Program Manager at “Creative Solution for Health” in a project entitled “Strengthening Maternal and Neonatal Health Services in partnership with local government” funded by One Heart Worldwide.  Her primary research interest is non-communicable diseases, especially cardiovascular health. Ms. Jha’s thesis title is, “The nutrition transition from 2012-2022 and its association with body mass index among participants of the Dhulikhel Heart Study, Nepal,” and her primary mentors were Dr. Annette Fitzpatrick (UW), Dr. Archana Shrestha (KU), and Dr. Biraj Karmacharya (KU).
