Precipitation heat treatment

Back to Case study
Precipitation heat treatment Lesson/Tutorial This is the second heat treatment involved in precipitation hardening.  It involves heating the supersaturated single-phase solid solution to an intermediate temperature within the two-phase region.  This allows small uniformly dispersed particles of the second phase to form.  The alloy is then cooled.
