Brian Jones, Ph.D.

Brian attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and graduated with a B.S. (1999) in Zoology. He earned a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Rochester (2008) under the mentorship of Dr. Patricia M. Hinkle. He pursued research on the phosphorylation of the thyrotropin-releasing hormone receptor. His interest in reversible protein phosphorylation brought him to the University of Washington where he has two postdoctoral mentors: Dr. Stanley McKnight and Dr. John Scott. Brian's research focuses on the role of PKA anchoring by different regulatory subunits and by AKAP7 (15/18) in the heart.
