Elisenda Sanz Iglesias

Elisenda Sanz got her PhD in Neurosciences under the supervision of Prof. Mercedes Unzeta at the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain), working in molecular mechanisms underlying the neuroprotective properties of a MAO-B inhibitor in different experimental paradigms of cell death. During her PhD, she also realized a four-month stay at Prof. Iain Campbell’s lab, at the School of Molecular and Microbial Biosciences of the University of Sydney (Australia), assessing the role of STAT-1 in IL-6 signalling in the mouse brain. Currently, she is performing a postdoctoral stay funded by the Spanish Ministry of Innovation and Science (MICINN) at the McKnight lab identifying cell type-specific changes in gene expression in vivo in the mouse brain and testis in different experimental models.
