Jennifer Deem

Jennifer graduated from the University of Washington with a BS in Biochemistry and Chemistry. Prior to pursuing her PhD, Jennifer spent a number of years as a research tech and then as a research scientist. She worked extensively in cardiovascular physiology while working in the Mouse Metabolic Phenotyping Center and the Center for Cardiovascular Biology. In addition, Jennifer spent a number of years developing collaborative projects between the Anesthesiology and Pulmonary departments to include studies of optic nerve neuropathy, cerebral vasospasm, and the role of nitric oxide in the vascular system, with particular focus on pulmonary microvascular hematocrit in response to varying flow and reduced oxygen tension.
