Linghai Yang, Ph.D.

Linghai received a B.Sci in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Beijing University (1999) and a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (2005). As a graduate student Linghai studied the regulatory role of ERK on intracellular calcium signaling through IP3 receptor, a calcium channel, phosphorylation. Linghai joined the McKnight lab in March, 2006 as a senior fellow and is currently studying the role of PKA in body weight regulation. He is interested in the role of brain on the lean and hyperactive phenotypes in RIIβ knockout mice.
