Ruimao Zheng , Ph.D.

Ruimao received his Doctor of Philosophy in Physiology (Cardiovascular Neuroimmunoregulation) at Peking University in 2004. As an Assistant Researcher in neuroscience, in a laboratory for brain and cognitive science at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Ruimao studied the mechanisms of drug addiction (2004-2006). While there he obtained a grant (CPSF 2005037458), awarded by China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. He was a chief director of the Science Department of 16th Beijing Postdoctoral Society. Ruimao is interested in the fields of cardiovascular central regulation, drug addiction, as well as the mechanisms of learning & memory, etc., especially focused on the roles of MAPKs signal transduction pathways. In January 2007, Ruimao joined the McKnight lab as a senior fellow. He will focus his research on the central regulation of body weight, and the role of PKA signaling pathways in obesity and in other related fields.
