With the goal of developing environmentally and economically sustainable technologies for earth abundant materials, MSTL lab is working towards developing Advanced Manufacturing Practices for use in medical and heavy transport industry (aerospace).  As a part of state funded JCDREAM (Joint Center for Deployment and Research in Earth Abundant Materials), Professor Ramulu and his team is working on the state-of-the art metal printing using electron beam.

3D Metal Printing is an advanced additive manufacturing technology, a greener and faster way to produce complex dental, orthopedic and aerospace components. The technology offers unique advantage of high Temperature, suitable for processing exotic metals like Titanium, Inconel, and Cobalt-Chromium.
