Our Purpose
The UW School of Oceanography recognizes the importance of communicating current knowledge and research in oceanography to the broader community.

Our Goals

-Increase awareness of the ocean environment, its impact on our lives, and our impact on the ocean.

-Bring current oceanographic research to K-12 classrooms and to the general public.

-Increase scientist participation in outreach

-Use the ocean as a context for increasing scientific knowledge and improving scientific literacy at all levels (K-12 and adult)
