GUIDELINES FOR MAKING ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS TO PDE DATABASE
- Anyone wanting to make a correction or addition to the PDE database
should contact one of the Nomenclature Committee members.
- In general, in order for new data to be considered, either cDNA or
primary sequence information should be provided to the committee. It
is greatly encouraged that the data already be accepted in a peer
reviewed journal before submission to the database. This might most
commonly occur during the time between when the manuscript is accepted
and when it is published. It is also greatly encouraged for the person
submitting the data to include a protein sequence alignment to the
PDE(s) to which it is most closely related. A sample alignment is available for comparison.
- All requests for new data entry or for changes will be forwarded by
email to the committee members for discussion. After discussion, a
vote will be taken. A majority vote is sufficient for a change to be
made or a new entry to be listed.
