Graduate student Qi Zhang presents the paper “WIP: Provenance Support for Interdisciplinary Research on the North Creek Wetlands” at the 1st International Workshop on Interoperable infrastructures for interdisciplinary big data sciences (IT4RIs 15) in conjunction with 11th IEEE International Conference on eScience 2015, held in Munich, Germany.
Qi Zhang’s Experience:
This past Sept, I attended 1st International Workshop on Interoperable infrastructures for interdisciplinary big data sciences (IT4RIs 15) in conjunction with 11th IEEE International Conference on eScience in Munich, Germany. from 31st August to 4th September 2015. (http://escience2015.mnm-team.org )
This workshop focuses on practical aspects of research infrastructure design, development, operation and user community support. The workshop aims to provide a forum for researchers and developers to exchange the latest experience and research ideas on requirements and on building common operations, interoperability solutions, semantic linking framework and data/service harmonization that support interdisciplinary big data sciences.
My presentation is in Infrastructure services session. The accepted paper title is “WIP: Provenance Support for Interdisciplinary Research on the North Creek Wetlands”. I presented on behalf of Prof. Asuncion’s research group.
It was a great experience. I not only had chance to meet a lot of excellent professors and researchers but also get inspired by their research methodologies and research spirit. They also gave me valuable advices about the future improvement for the Geodatabase System we are building.
In addition, the conference included various social events. It was a fun and rewarding trip for me.
