Nutrition and Oral Health:
Self-study Curriculum

Promotion of oral health and prevention of oral health problems have been identified as important activities that can be performed by many health care providers.

Each of the modules in this self-study curriculum provides one hour of continuing education health care providers. The materials, including handouts, are also suitable for quick reference.

Continuing Education

Prior approval for continuing education credit (1 hour per module) has been obtained for Registered Dietitians and dentists and other dental professionals. Other health professionals can request credit from their accrediting agencies.

For dental professionals
ADA CERP - approved credit is available for dentists and other dental professionals though the University of Washington, Continuing Dental Education (UW CDE). When you have successfully answered 80% of the quiz questions, you will be asked to print and sign a certificate of completion. Mail this, along with $20 per credit hour requested to UW CDE, and a transcript will be mailed to you. If you have questions, contact UW CDE (cde@dental.washington.edu) or visit www.uwcde.com.

For dietetics professionals
CDR-approved credit is available for registered dietitians and dietetic technicians through May 31, 2008.
