Xiaojing Xia received a B.S. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Nanjing University in 2015 after pursuing undergraduate research in the nanophotonics laboratory of Prof. Yanqing Lu where she focused on developing liquid crystal phase plate. After her graduation, she once worked as a network engineer in BOSCH. Since 2016, she has been pursuing a Ph.D. in Molecular Engineering with Prof. Peter Pauzauskie at University of Washington. Her research interest focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and simulation of fluoride host materials which can be locally cooled by NIR optical tweezers in liquid, gas and vacuum.
