Welcome

Welcome to the Quantitative Conservation Lab, led by Sarah Converse, at the University of Washington. We’re interested in developing and applying methods to understand the functioning of populations, especially small and declining populations, and to improve their management. We work across a broad variety of taxa (terrestrial and marine birds, terrestrial and marine mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and fish).

Our research projects focus on 2 themes: (1) development and application of quantitative methods in population ecology, particularly for small and declining populations; and (2) development and application of decision-analytic methods to inform management of populations.
