AF Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor

The Department of Economics at the Hong Kong Baptist University invites applications for the above position. Applicants in all economic fields will be considered, but preferences will be given to those with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

            ·          Managerial Economics

            ·          International Economics

Applicants should have a relevant Ph.D. degree with proven research record. Those with specific knowledge of area studies, such as China or Asia, will have added advantage. In addition to carrying out undergraduate and graduate teaching and research, applicants are expected to supervise MPhil/PhD theses.

The appointment will commence as early as mid-August 2009 on an initial term of 2-3 years. Remunerations will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.

Applicants are invited for one position (open for all ranks) in the Department of Economics. Candidates should possess Ph.D. (or Ph.D. expected before hiring) in economics or related fields by Sep. 2008, with demonstrated excellence in scholarship. Open to all fields in economics; however, priority will be given to the candidates who specialize in the following fields: macroeconomic theory and econometric theory. A good command of Mandarin is required. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to give a talk at the Department. Applicants for assistant professorship please send a letter of application, curriculum vita, official transcripts, and samples of recent research. Three confidential letters of recommendation should be sent directly to the Chairman of Economics Faculty Search Committee.
