Stuart Graham successfully defended his dissertation on November 5, 2021, ending a productive PhD in the Hille Ris Lambers Lab! Stuart’s research focused on modeling tree growth on Mount Ranier, as well as investigating how fungal diversity scaled with elevation. He developed a regularized regression model to estimate tree growth, which reduced the computational time for his analyses by over 300 HOURS! If you are curious to find out more, you’re in luck as this research has already been published. Although Stuart will be leaving our department, he has landed a position as a data scientist here in Seattle, so it won’t be the last we see of him. If you haven’t already, send him a congratulations!
