Allison Henrich

Allison Henrich is a Professor of Mathematics at Seattle University. She is passionate about doing research with both students and colleagues in her field of knot theory. She has published 16 research papers and two books on knot-theoretical topics, with six of her research papers being coauthored by students. Recently, she has gotten more interested in studying knots through playing games on knot diagrams and performing “magic” rope tricks. Working with others to create a supportive environment in the mathematics community for everyone interested in doing math is especially important to Allison. She is a co-editor of the book Living Proof: Stories of Resilience Along the Mathematical Journey, a collection of stories written by mathematicians about times they’ve struggled in their education or early careers and how they’ve overcome their struggles.
