Mariana Smit Vega Garcia
Originally from Brazil, Mariana Smit Vega Garcia just finished a post-doc at the University of Washington and will start an Assistant Professor position at Western Washington University in the Fall. She received her PhD from Purdue University in 2014 and did a post-doc in Germany. Her main areas of research are Geometric Measure Theory and Partial Differential Equations. Mariana loves teaching, research, and soccer.
