Workshop in Statistical Genetics and Computational Molecular Biology
December 16-18, 2001.

Funding and sponsorship

Several programs and resources have provided funding, organizational assistance, or other helpful participation.
These include:

The Burroughs Wellcome funded Program in Mathematics and Molecular Biology
The Biostatistics/Bioinformatics Group of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
The Tools for Transformation Program, University of Washington

Additionally:
The Applied and Computational Mathematics VIGRE Program, University of Washington
and the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences
have provided significant funding for student participants.

Funding and registration update

Open registration is now closed: we have reached the limit we can accommodate! -- we are expecting 80 participants and 15 speakers.

A total of 57 registration waivers have been awarded. Of these 55 were funded by Burroughs Wellcome Fund support for the Program in Mathematics and Molecular Biology. The remaining 2 are funded by a University of Washington Tools for Transformation grant.

A total of 29 travel awards (27 including accommodation) have been made to students from US Colleges and Universities from six States (AL, CA, ID, MO, OR, UT). These awards use funds committed by the Applied and Computational Mathematics VIGRE Program, University of Washington

A University of Washington Tools for Transformation grant has been used to provide supplementary travel awards in a few cases, for students from more distant US Universities.

A total of 13 travel scholarships have been awarded to students from three Canadian Universities that are members of the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences
.
