Why are kids given up for adoption?
Kids are given up for adoption for several reasons. Many times women give
up their children to adoption because they are teenagers. Their parents
may be the ones who force them to give up their children for adoption.
For example, a teenager might get pregnant at a young age and the teenager’s
parent might not believe that the teen can care for the child. Many children
are also given up for adoption because their mothers are raped. Single
parents are the ones that usually give their children for adoption. In
this case, they are not able to raise a child on their own. It does not
matter if it is a man or woman who is facing this situation, but if any
of them is unable to raise the child then he/she needs to make the correct
decision by giving them up for adoption.
The fact that there is a need of financial help in developing countries
is another one of the reason parents give up their children for adoption.
These children are many times left to go to hospitals, orphanages, and
even police stations. A main reason for parents, with low income, to give
their children up for adoption is that they hope their children can receive
enough food, a home, education and find themselves in better living conditions.
Other reasons for children to be given up for adoption are not always
optional for the parents. They may also be because the parents have mental
problems. If their parents are not capable of taking care of them, the
children are taken from them and given up for adoption.
