Current Projects ( academic / personal )

The projects that I am involved in right now is Upward Bound and working at the pet licensing center. Well the program is okay but I just don't like to wake up that early every morning to catch the bus and go to school. And I think the project that I am involved in personally is that I go to work at the pet licensing center and the work there is okay except for the fact that filing everyday could get pretty boring. So everyday I get home at 7o'clock and that is all the time I have left.

Favorite WWW so far is www/ sanrio/ english/ welcome

Well I picked that website because I didn't really have time to go through the whole thing and I personally think that the website page is cute and that is the one I like the best besides the one about cooking. And the website just looks good.

Biography

The following is from Encarta 95.

The keynote of Confucian ethics is jen, variously translated as “love,” “goodness,” “humanity,” and “human-heartedness.” Jen is a supreme virtue representing human qualities at their best. In human relations, construed as those between one person and another, jen is manifested in chung, or faithfulness to oneself and others, and shu, or altruism, best expressed in the Confucian golden rule, “Do not do to others what you do not want done to yourself.” Other important Confucian virtues include righteousness, propriety, integrity, and filial piety. One who possesses all these virtues becomes a chün-tzu (perfect gentleman). Politically, Confucius advocated a paternalistic government in which the sovereign is benevolent and honorable and the subjects are respectful and obedient. The ruler should cultivate moral perfection in order to set a good example to the people. In education Confucius upheld the theory, remarkable for the feudal period in which he lived, that “in education, there is no class distinction.” [1]

I picked that article because I always liked the teachings of Confucius well not all of his teachings but just some and most of them I didn't even read before. Let's see how should I describe myself I am ordinary not many things are special about me . I like a lot of stuff and one of them is food. I just like to eat and I always had my philosophy that life shouldn't be wasted since it only comes once and is so short.

Instead of China I was born in Hong Kong in 1980

.

There is more stuff that you could do in Hong Kong then the US because there are more people there and more places to go to. Like the malls and shopping center are just like around the block where you live so you could go anytime you want. I clipped the following section from Encarta to give you some facts about Hong Kong .

Hong Kong, British dependency in eastern Asia, on the South China Sea, bordered by China on the north. It is made up of many islands, a portion of the mainland, and a considerable expanse of water surface. It has a land area of 1076 sq km (415 sq mi). Despite its small size, Hong Kong plays an important role in the world economy.

Geography

The dependency can be divided into three main regions—Hong Kong Island and nearby islets; the mainland Kowloon Peninsula and Stonecutters Island; and the New Territories, made up principally of a large area on the mainland and Lantau island. The dependency is partly situated in the Zhu Jiang, or Pearl River, delta, and the Sham Chun River forms the border with China. Much of Hong Kong is hilly, and substantial areas of the low-lying terrain are made up of land reclaimed from the sea. Only about 12 percent is forested, but small tropical and subtropical plants are abundant elsewhere. Hong Kong's small amount of fertile soil is concentrated in the mainland portion of the New Territories, near Deep Bay. Few large wild animals inhabit the dependency.

People and Principal Cities

The population of Hong Kong is about 97 percent Chinese, with some Filipinos, British, Indians, Portuguese, and Americans. The population of Hong Kong (1990 estimate) was 5,575,900. The overall population density was 5351 people per sq km (13,874 per sq mi), making Hong Kong one of the most densely populated regions in the world.

Chinese culture dominates in Hong Kong. Yet, as a port inhabited and visited by people of many nationalities, the dependency is subject to diverse influences, especially that of the British. Most people adhere to a version of the Chinese folk religion, which combines elements of Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, and other beliefs. About 8 percent of the people are Christian.

The capital and cultural center of Hong Kong is Victoria, which is on the northern shore of Hong Kong Island. Also of major importance are Kowloon and New Kowloon, extending from the Kowloon Peninsula into the New Territories. Kowloon and Victoria are separated from each other by Victoria Bay.

I was born in Hong Kong on December 2, 1980. That was the most important day in my life and I always wanted to know what time I was born, but my mom forgot. Well I attend Cleveland High School and I am a freshmen this year, also my first year at Upward Bound. Although above it talks about religion, I just want you to know that I am an atheist. Well, I am looking for something to believe in but can't find one that I feel devoted to yet. And come to think of it I haven't been looking too hard either. And this year in Christmas time, I went back to Hong Kong to visit and I didn't enjoy myself as much as had I hoped to; maybe because I went back with my mom.

Personal Interest / Hobbies

I like to play tennis. I have joined the Cleveland tennis JV team and I had a lot of fun during the practices as well as going to the game and winning. But I did lose once to Eastside Catholic and that time it was really bad.

I also like to go and travel. One of the things that I am going to do when I graduate from college is buy a plane ticket and go around the whole world if I have enough money but if I don't, I might just stay in Europe or Asia for 6 months.

Another thing I like to do is read. I read sometimes because I got nothing else better to do or I just want to finish up that book. Maybe I was always told folk stories when I was young but I always liked to read because its a story that someone made up.

I like to listen to music too. I like to do that because sometimes I just turn on the music as a background noise and somehow after that I can concentrate better and think my problems out and I can also concentrate better on my homework and reports.

I am also very interested In horoscope. I like to know my future but hopefully not too clearly. And I guess that is sort of my hobby. I always liked the Chinese horoscope system and I think it is interesting.
