Current Project: Currently, I am in the Upward Bound Program which is a program that is federally funded to help high school students to be able to go to college of their desire. The program teaches the students all the necessary skills that they will need in order to be successful in their colleges. The program also offers the students something to do during the summer. The program keeps some of the trouble makers out of trouble, at least for a little while. One thing that I like about the program is that all the teachers are close to the students, in this way the students will more likely ask more questions than they usually do. It is almost like a family here. We call the teachers by their first names. Another thing that I like about the Upward Bound is that the program gives out stipends at the end of the program. The stipends help a lot if you, like me, are always short of money.

Favorite WWW site: Hong Kong

The address for this particular picture is // mimbers.hknet.com/~brianchaw/linda/linda.htm

It is my favorite wed site because I watch a lot of Chinese movies the majority of the actors and especially the actresses. This web site gives me the opportunity to look at some of my favorite actors and actresses in a different way. I mean in the movies, they would always look either mean if they are playing the bad guy or always happier than who they really are if they are playing the good guys. Besides, this web site gives a whole lot more valuable information that you can't find anywhere else.

Background: I came into the world on Sept. 10, 1977 in a little, almost unknown city in northern Thailand. I came to the U.S. on March 7, 1985, a year after my father passed away. I have been here almost my entire life. If you were to ask me what my country looks like, don't be surprised if I just stared at you with a blank face because I have never been back there since I touched foot on American soil.

During the little spare time that I get, I like to play hoops with friends at the local park. If I'm not at the park playing hoops, I will more than likely be at the Beacon Hill Library reading a magazine or playing with the only word processor in the library. I am currently working at QFC. I work as a Courtesy Clerk, but I am listed as a Helper Clerk, I am very please with it because I get paid more than usual for what I do.

Interests/Hobbies: My favorite hobbies are to collect all the valuable collector's sports cards that I know one day will be worth the time spent on collecting them. My other favorite hobby is reading books. I like to read books that are related to my religion, which is Christianity. My favorite author is Billy Graham. He inspires me whenever I read on of his books or an article that he wrote. I am very interested in the backgrounds of my religion. So, I ask around a lot to gain more knowledge in order to justify whether what I believes is what I truly want to believe. The following is what I clipped from Encarta about my religion.

Christianity, the most widely distributed of the world religions, having substantial representation in all the populated continents of the globe. Its total membership may exceed 1.7 billion people.

Like any system of belief and values—be it Platonism, Marxism, Freudianism, or democracy—Christianity is in many ways comprehensible only “from the inside,” to those who share the beliefs and strive to live by the values; and a description that would ignore these “inside” aspects of it would not be historically faithful. To a degree that those on the inside often fail to recognize, however, such a system of beliefs and values can also be described in a way that makes sense as well to an interested observer who does not, or even cannot, share their outlook.
