Field trips were a big part of this summer's Upward Bound learning experience. It gave students a chance to get away from the regular classroom setting and gave them an opportunity to learn in a different environment.
This year, the trip to Pack Forest was extended to three days instead of the regular two. Instead of the annual visit to the EMP, the students had the opportunity to attend the Bite of Seattle and the National TRIO Thinkquest Conference. Also, field trips were arranged to explore the Pacific Science Center and a Public Art viewing day in Downtown, followed by a movie.
The field trips were a wonderful experience for the Upward Bound students of Summer 2002.
