University Of Washington Upward Bound 2007

This year Upward Bound went on three field trips: the Getting to Know You Picnic at Ravenna Park, the UW Tacoma/Glass Museum/Washington Natural Museum/Spaghetti Factory Field Trip, and the Bite of Seattle & IMAX Movie Field Trip. They were all very fun.

At the Ravenna Park Field Trip we played cool getting to-know-you games, had an awesome Scholar's Bowl, had a hula hoop contest, and a three-legged race. Everybody had a fun time with good food. We had delicious Ezell's Chicken with mashed potatoes, rolls, beans, and peach cobbler for desert.

Our second field trip was to Tacoma, so we packed up and were stuffed into a bus for an hour! When we got there, we went to the Glass Museum first. We saw a lot of cool glass art and learned a lot about glass history. We also saw glass art being made, how cool is that?! After the Glass Museum we went to chow down at the Old Spaghetti Factory. We each had a choice of delicious spaghetti with meat sauce or a creamy fettuccine alfredo. After lunch, it was time to head to UW Tacoma. We had a presentation that taught us about the new campus and life in a smaller school. We even took a cool tour and visited a lot of places like the mess hall, business building, and apartment buildings. We ended the field trip with a visit to the History Museum. At the museum we learned about Washington's history and saw a lot of cool exhibits. Then, after having a day of fun, we finally got back on the bus and headed home.

Our last field trip of the year was our traditional field trip to the Bite of Seattle and IMAX Movie. This year's movie was Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix. The movie was great...................... NOT! Unfortunately, we did not get to watch the movie due to a technical error in the tickets. Fortunately, IMAX was kind enough to provide us with tickets for future showings. But we still had fun even tough it was pouring rain. There was still the bite. It had cool food, interesting people, and some cool music. We even got to see our own Ethan Anderson perform with his band!
