After retiring in 2006, Dr. Richard Wesley began taking classes through the Access program at the University of
Washington studying political science, economics, and communications. In 2010, Dick created Richard B. Wesley Endowed Graduate Student Support Fund in International Relations.

The Department
of Political Science at the University of Washington (Seattle) has over 25 full-time
distinguished faculty, nearly 100 Ph.D. students, and about 1000 undergraduate
majors and minors. The vitality of the department is evident in the diverse interests
of its faculty, the wide-ranging activities of its research centers, sponsored events,
and exceptional educational opportunities at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

The Center for Global Studies
(CGS) mission is to enhance understandings about the world's cultures, societies and economies
as they shape and are shaped by global and transnational forces. As one of eight National
Resource Centers housed in the Henry M. Jackson
School of International Studies at the
University of Washington, CGS provides resources for transforming interdisciplinary
global studies via its research and teaching foci, professional training opportunities for
educators, general public programs, and media outreach. Our
Global Studies Initiatives
focus on global human security, global health, and global religions.
