HIPAA Reminder
Medical students are not allowed to take medical records or any patient information out of the hospital. This includes but is not limited to patient medical records, H&Ps with identifying information, patient sign-outs, or records from other hospitals. This includes physical or electronic documents. If you have been given access to the EMR, of note: students are legally only allowed to access patients in their direct care. If you have doubts or questions, please contact the site administrator, site director, attending or e-mail the Pediatric Medical Student office at medical.students@seattlechildrens.org.
