GeoFutures – Conference based mentoring program with microcredential certificate opportunity | Application NOW OPEN – Due AUG 21st

GeoFutures is a conference based mentoring program that provides full registration, travel, lodging, and per diem support for geoscience undergraduates interested in attending the 2026 AGU Annual Meeting in San Francisco. In addition to travel support, GeoFutures matches each undergraduate with a mentor who will help them navigate the conference and build their science identity and professional network. As part of the program, undergraduates will also have the opportunity to earn a microcredential certificate (Microcredentials) in the use of geoscience technologies, through programming led by the Marine Technology Society.

We especially encourage students who are currently or have recently participated in an REU or similar program to apply. Students who plan to submit an abstract for this year’s AGU conference are also encouraged to apply.

Students can apply on our main program page: NSF Geo-Futures Program | College of the Environment. Applications are due August 21, 2026.
