Paul Bain is the Director of Bands at Graham-Kapowsin High
School
(Bethel School District), where he teaches two concert bands, jazz
ensemble, percussion, and hosts an annual jazz festival. Mr. Bain is
also active with the Tacoma Youth Symphony Association and serves as
the assistant conductor for the Washington Ambassadors of Music; giving
concerts in London, France, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany every
other summer. In January 2008, he was a guest conductor on the
Tamana All Girls High School Band New Year’s Concert in Kumamoto,
Japan. Mr. Bain earned a Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting at
the University of
Washington in 2009, studying conducting with Timothy Salzman
and trumpet with Allen Vizzutti. In 2002 he was appointed guest
lecturer for one quarter at Pacific Lutheran University conducting the
concert band. Mr. Bain earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from
Pacific Lutheran University were he studied conducting with Raydell
Bradley.
