The Brown Bag lunch series was started at the beginning of the spring quarter to help graduate students be more confident in their paths after school. The series includes three hour-long informal professional development seminars were held over the course of spring quarter that focused on potential career paths for chemical engineers after graduate school.

In the first talk, Professor Elizabeth Nance presented about the path of academia. She outlined the steps necessary to seek employment as a professor and answered many questions, ranging from parts of the application to a day in the life of a faculty member.

Professor Dan Schwartz spoke about a less conventional career path for a chemical engineer: science policy. He addressed the trajectory for entering a career in policy and the opportunities available.

Finally, Professor Corie Cobb shared her insights into her time spent in industry after her PhD, what motivated her move to academia, and what challenges and opportunities she faced in making this move.
