National Nordic Museum | FT Employment | Adult Education and Interpretation Coordinator

The Adult Education and Interpretation Coordinator, is responsible for
developing and managing adult education offerings at the National Nordic
Museum, including, but not limited to, classes, workshops, conferences,
docent training, and public programs. This position provides oversight of the
Museum’s tour program.

Essential Job Functions

● Develop and manage adult education programming, including
workshops, classes, conferences, Folk School, and other educational
programming as assigned
● Propose creative, dynamic approaches to foster audience engagement
● Manage the Museum’s tour program, including developing interpretive
techniques and materials for the docent program
● Research, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate educational
programming; compile budgets; manage resources, scheduling,
communications, outreach, and timelines
● Develop and manage partnerships with community groups to enhance
educational programming
● Understand the needs of the communities served by the Museum
● Must have an authentic belief in and support of accessibility and equity
for diverse audiences and learning styles
● Develop, implement, and track metrics to measure, evaluate,
interpret, and analyze the effectiveness and impact of public programs
● In collaboration with Curatorial staff, develop programs, activities, and
interpretive materials to complement temporary and permanent
exhibitions
● Provide administrative and programmatic support to Educational &
Cultural Programs Manager as required
● Respond to proposals and general inquiries concerning Museum
programming
● Liaise with Museum staff to communicate needs in the areas of
marketing, volunteers, fund development, and facilities support

Requirements

● BA required (MA preferred) and 3+ years relevant experience in

Museum education or related field
● Weekend and evening work
● Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel,
PowerPoint
● Proficient in PC platform
● Valid driver’s license
● Ability to lift 35lbs
● Ability to be seated/standing for extended periods
