Position Summary

In collaboration with the Development Director, the Communications Manager is responsible for developing and implementing communications strategy for the organization. Utilizing print, digital, and social media platforms this position ensures that the organization’s programs, public events, fundraising appeals and events, and achievements are effectively communicated to stakeholders and the broader public.

The ideal candidate will be dedicated to the mission of Path with Art, possess an acute interest in learning, be a team-player, clear and effective communicator, detail orientated, flexible in nature, extremely organized, and have the ability to manage multiple priorities with a positive disposition.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • General Communications

    • Develop and implement organizational communications calendar

    • Monthly email newsletter

      • Including student story / feature

    • Website management, updates, and maintenance

    • Social Media strategy and implementation

    • Graphic Design

    • Photo / video archive sorting and curation

    • Oversee public marketing materials including informational folders, brochures, and reports

    • Presentation support

  • Programmatic Event Support

    • Editorial calendar postings

    • Email reminders

    • Build RSVP pages & track event attendance

    • Publicize on social media

  • Outreach

    • Publicity / Earned Media

      • Press/article tracking

      • Write press releases

      • Direct press outreach, communication, and cultivation of press relationships

    • Represent Path with Art at partner / networking events

    • Respond to and follow up on general inquiries for engagement opportunities

  • Development Support

    • Fundraising Event Support

    • Work with Development Director on direct fundraising appeals

    • Capital Campaign communications support

  • Volunteer Coordination

    • Maintain / update volunteer postings for ongoing openings on various platforms

    • Outreach interested parties

    • Schedule & host Volunteer Onboarding meeting with support from Program staff

    • Periodic calls for volunteers for specific tasks and events with support from Program team

    • Run background checks

    • Plan annual Worker Bee party

    • Build out additional volunteer appreciation and cultivation

  • Additional Support

    • Other duties and responsibilities as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

A strong candidate will:

  • Believe in Path with Art’s mission

  • Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people from all backgrounds

  • Be self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Highly skilled at communications and marketing

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Be an excellent project manager who possesses strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to manage priorities and workflow

  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues

  • Have proficiency with MS Office Suite, Squarespace, Adobe Creative Suite, Salesforce, Form Assembly, Video Editing Software

  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Cloud Storage platforms, is a plus but not mandatory

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree or have demonstrated related experience; two to five years or equivalent combination of education and experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, accurately read written information, and work with computers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Generally, work is in an office setting but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of typical office environment. Some events take place in the evening. During pandemic must be able to work remotely.
